Margaret Crowdis, 85
August 31, 1938 - February 29, 2024
Margaret Crowdis, 85 of Salem, MA passed away peacefully at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on February 29 2024 surrounded by her loving family.
Margaret was born and raised in Salem, She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (O'Donnell) and Salem Police officer George Crowdis. Margaret received her education from St Mary's Grammar School and Salem High School class of 1956. She was an honor student and always loved to attend the class reunion.
After graduation Margaret worked for Sylvania on Boston Street, then for the US Government in Washington D. C. as a secretary and as a Nanny for the children of Congressmen. She then went to work in the Embassy in Stockholm Sweden. Before retiring she worked in management for Trans World Airlines. She loved skiing in Colorado where she enjoyed teaching students with special needs how to ski. Margaret spent much time with her sister Ellen helping their elderly father.
Margaret is survived by her sister Elizabeth and her husband Thomas Hosman and nephews and nieces, John Hosman and his wife Tricia, Jill (Hosman) and her husband Michael Nelson, George McGrath and his wife Arlene, Paul McGrath and his wife Laura and Timothy McGrath and Susan McGrath. Also many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her sister Maureen and her husband Edward McGrath, her sister Ellen Crowdis and her niece Lisa Ann Hosman.
