Julia Rosa Mercedes Rodriguez, 85, of Salem, MA, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday, November 14th, 2024.
Julia was born on May 12, 1939 to Ana Antonia Rodriguez and Jose Agustin Ceballos Villaman, in Santiago, Dominican Republic. She was one of the first Hispanic women to establish herself in The Point. Many people in Salem knew that Julia loved playing bingo, poker, dominos, cooking, hosting, and spending time with her grandchildren.
Julia was the proud mother of four daughters. Survivors include: Daughter, Magnolia and Husband Freddy; Daughter, Ludys; Daughter, Odalis and Husband Ricardo. Her grandchildren; Jose, Jeffrey, Kendra(Peter), Eddy, Shakira, Erica, Keneisha, Shaneiris(Michael), Sharianna(Ivan), Victor(Jadalis), Yannell and her 19 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and brothers, Julia was preceded in death by her daughter, Carmen.
It’s always hard when a loved one passes. Julia, also known as Mama was the matriarchy of the Rodriguez family. She kept them united and was their glue. Mama loved, fed, taught the value of family and was always a call away. She leaves behind a legacy that mourns her deeply.
Her daughter and caregiver Ludys did a great job in taking care of her mother.
