Alfred A. Votta, 63
December 3, 1960 – January 16, 2024
Alfred A. Votta, of Salem, passed away suddenly January 16, 2024 at Salem Hospital at the age of 63. Fred was born December 3, 1960 at Salem Hospital the son of the late Edmund Votta (died 1966) and Elizabeth (Marmen) Votta (died 2017). He was born and raised in the Castle Hill neighborhood of Salem.
Fred graduated Bishop Fenwick High School in Peabody, MA Class of 1978 and was employed by Sunburst Fruit Juice, Inc. for many years. After leaving Sunburst, he worked for the City of Salem in various departments, including the Council on Aging, which he enjoyed very much. Most recently, Fred worked for Greater Lynn Senior Services.
He was very involved in local politics, volunteering on dozens of campaigns. Fred's love for music was unparrelled, especially The Beatles and Neil Young. He loved playing guitar and having jam sessions with his friends. He enjoyed cars and loved dogs, especially German Shepherds. He had countless friends whom he loved very much.
Fred enjoyed spending time with his partner of 9 years Andrea Dodge and her dogs. Fred is also Survived by his 3 children, Brian Votta of Danvers, MA, Steven Votta of Lynnfield, MA, and Nicole (Votta) Hudon of Manchester, NH.
A Celebration of Life is scheduled for Saturday, January 27 at the VFW 95 Derby St. Salem, MA from 2-5 p.m.
