Danvers- John B. “Sonny” Pedersen, Jr., 81, of Danvers, passed away Friday, January 5, 2024. He was the son of the late John B. Sr. and Esther (Johnson) Pedersen.
Born in Cambridge, MA, John lived in Belchertown, Hudson, NH, Salem, MA, Peabody and Danvers, MA throughout his life. John worked for Hallmark Cards and Christmas Tree Shops for years and he loved to go camping and bowling and loved going to Church. He loved dancing and singing and making people laugh. John really loved everything; he loved life.
John is survived by his sister, Linda Dossett and her husband Walter of Salisbury, MA, and many nieces, nephews and cousins in different parts of the country. Sonny also leaves his housemates from Bass River, Robert Hecht, Arthur Iwanicki, Salvatore Favazza, and Jay Coleman. The family would like to thank Ron and all who took care of him at his home, Mary for always being by his side in CCU, and to Carla and Autumn in CCU for their compassion and kindness with John. He was blessed to have so many in his life to love and be loved!
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the chapel at the Salvation Army, 93 North St. Salem MA on Thursday from 11a.m. - 1 p.m. with a service at 1 p.m. Parking is available behind building on Mason St. side. John will be buried at a later date with his mother and father in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem, MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army, PO Box 408, Salem, MA 01970.
