Frances Elizabeth (Klamt) Kirchberg

Salem- Frances Elizabeth (Klamt) Kirchberg passed away from lung cancer on September 17, 2023. She was born October 6, 1945 at Rockville Centre, Long Island, NY to parents Philomena and Walter Klamt.
After growing up in Chester, Vermont, Frances moved to Salem, Massachusetts in 1968. While raising her family, she earned an Associates in Arts from North Shore Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Salem State College. She worked for ST Equipment & Technology, Needham, MA as the senior chemist.
Frances was an active member in the St. Peter’s Church Altar Guild and Flower Committee and she served on the vestry. She was also a member of the Salem Garden Club.
Frances is survived by her son Eric Kirchberg, wife Kate, and their daughter Bonnie of Norwood, Massachusetts, daughter Christine Kirchberg Jones of Huntsville, Alabama, and niece Lisa Stephanie Kirchberg of Jericho, Vermont. She was preceded in death by her parents, aunt Peg, sister Marie, niece Susanna, and son-in-law Jeffrey.
A service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 24 St. Peter St., Salem, MA on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. A reception will follow.
