James E. Flynn, 70

Peabody - James E. Flynn, 70 of Peabody, passed away peacefully, on Saturday morning, September 30, 2023, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Salem, MA to the late James E. Flynn and Eileen (Dolan) Flynn. He was educated at St. James Grammar School and Salem High School, Class of 1971. He was the beloved husband of Jeanne (Fontaine) Flynn of Peabody, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Known for his kind-hearted nature and strong work ethic, Jim spent many years of his career in sales at Anderson Little and The Men’s Wearhouse. He was a beacon of love and compassion in the lives of all who knew him. He was well known for his sense of humor, quick wit and friendly personality. He always enjoyed playing a game of trivia, whist, or acey deucey, and listening to music from The Beach Boys, Frank Sinatra and Claudine Longet.
A devoted Boston sports fan, Jim shared his passion for the game with family and friends. For many years, he coached baseball in the Salem Little League and basketball in the Salem Recreational League. His enthusiasm for sports was matched only by his love and dedication to his family. Jim was extremely proud of his grandchildren Collin and Ayden and relished the time he spent with them.
Along with his loving wife Jeanne, Jim is survived by his children Jamie Flynn and his wife Camrin of Peabody, Allison Flynn and her fiance Michy of NH, his two grandsons Collin and Ayden Flynn, his brother Paul Flynn and his wife Kathy of Georgetown and their children Ryan Flynn, and Amanda Morasse and her husband Nick and their son Mason, his niece Janice Allinson and her husband Mark and their son Luke, as well as several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Janice and her husband John Delaney of Winthrop.
Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation at Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St, Salem, MA, on Friday, October 6, 2023 from 4-7p.m. Funeral services will be private.
