Mary Lauretta Rocheleau, 92, of Peabody, MA, passed away on August 18.2023. She suffered many years with Multiple Sclerosis and various other illnesses, but through it all she retained her positive outlook and her kind and gentle spirit, a friend to all
Lauretta was born on January 28, 1931 to Alma (Mailloux) and Eugene Rocheleau in Lynn, MA. She was a student at the former St. Jean de Baptiste School for 12 years. She then went on to study at Burdett College of Business in Lynn, MA. After graduation from Burdett she began her career at Lynn Five Cent Savings Bank and remained there until her retirement.
Lauretta enjoyed traveling with her sister Florence especially cruising the islands of the Caribbean. Alaska and Mexico. She also enjoyed spending summers at her home at Lake Shore Park on Lake Winnepesauke, NH.
She lived in Lynn, Salem, Monrovia, California, and in later years moving to Peabody House in Peabody Ma. where she enjoyed bingo, along with other activities and developed many friendships there, especially with her good friend Dot Lubas. They shared almost daily excursions together.
She is predeceased by her parents Eugene and Alma Rocheleau, along with five brothers andwives: Raymond and Marie, Edmund and Blanche, Leo and Violet, Gerard and Sally and Emest and Harriet.
She is survived by her sister Florence 97, of Beverly, MA. and several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her smile was made of sunshine and her heart was solid gold.
A graveside service will be held in St. Jean Cemetery, 134 Broadway Lynn, MA, Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 10am. To send a condolence to the family please comment below.
