Salem- Richard A. Williams, 87, of Salem, MA, passed away on February 16, 2023 in Salem.
Born in Peabody, MA, August 27, 1935, Richard was the son of the late Alonzo L. and Margaret (Adams) Williams. He went to school in Danvers and graduated from Essex County Agricultural School. Richard married Roberta (Ingemi) Williams on October 1, 1961 in Salem. He worked as an Operating Engineer for IUOE Local 4 until his retirement in 2002. Richard was a veteran of the Korean War and served in both the US Navy in the Submarine Service and the US Army. He was an avid outdoorsman and was a member of the Danvers Fish and Game Club.
Richard is survived by his wife Roberta, a son and daughter-in-law Michael and Deborah Williams of Mystic, CT, a daughter and son-in-law Susan and Kenneth Howland of Salem, a granddaughter Kayla Rose Howland, a grandson Liam Adams Williams and his mother Paula Williams of North Berwick, ME, a sister Dorothy G. Richard of Danvers, several nieces and nephews including his godson Paul Williams of Sanford, ME and special extended members of the McGough/Holliday family. Richard was predeceased by his parents.
