Salem- Richard Allan "Rick" MacDonald, 66, of Salem passed away unexpectedly at his home October 3, 2023.
Born in Quincy, MA, Richard was the son of the late Marilyn Yorston and Joseph Leone. Rick worked for many years as a self-employed painter. Over the years Rick shared his talent with a number of churches in the area helping out where he could. Rick really enjoyed going on Mission Trips for the church and helping people any way he could. He loved playing softball with his son and was an extremely competitive athlete. He also enjoyed going to the beach to unwind. The bond he had with his son was like no other.
Richard is survived by his loving son, Michael MacDonald and his wife Courtney of Beverly, Michael's mother and Rick's good friend Kelley Murphy of Lynn, MA, his sisters, Darlene MacDonald of Quincy, MA, and Heidi Bowlen of Brockton, MA. He was predeceased by three sisters, Donna Thorley, Kellie Yorston, Marilyn Yorston.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Richard's life at the Living Hope Church of the Nazarene, 556 Cabot St. Beverly, Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 11 a.m. Followed by burial in St. Mary Cemetery, Beverly.
