Meredith A. Madrid, 81

Salem- Meredith A. Madrid, 81, of Salem, passed away Thursday afternoon at Care One Peabody. She was the wife of the late Gilbert Madrid.
Born in Parkman, ME, Meredith was the daughter of the late Roy C. and Mildred B. (Wilson) Garland. Meredith worked for many years as a housekeeper for Salem Hospital and local nursing homes including the former Newhall Nursing Home in Salem.
Meredith loved country music and loved to sing. As a young woman she was often invited to call in on a Guilford, ME radio show to sing for the audience. Meredith was considered a mom to all of her children's friends and was loved by so many and will be missed.
Meredith is survived by her children, Edith Stearns and her husband Jerry of Allenstown, NH, Barbara Marshall of Lynn, MA, Ernest Marshall of Nashua, NH, Ann Gregory of Salem, MA, and Kimberly Madrid of Cambridge, OH; her grandchildren, Megan Williams, Derek Stearns, Cassie Lichtenberg, Travis Gregory, and Cayden Skiff; her great-grandchildren, Bradley, Devin, Kayra, Nicholas, Marissa, Kegan, Ariana, and one more who is expected into this world very soon; two great-great grandchildren; three brothers Chester, Maurice, and David, and a niece, Leah Garland.
