Frances B. Roderick, 86

Frances B. (Porcello) Roderick, 86, the beloved wife of the late Robert P. Roderick, died August 9, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Salem, a graduate of Salem High School, she was employed by Sylvania for many years before becoming a full-time homemaker.
Fran was a great seamstress, sewing clothes for her daughters and herself. She enjoyed dancing with her husband of 64 years, traveling to their favorite places, and the wonderful company of family and friends. With a cancer prognosis of 6 months, Fran defied all odds and became a “walking miracle” living an additional 15 years.
The youngest of two children, she was predeceased by her parents, James and Cecile (Beaulieu) Porcello. Fran is survived by her daughters, Carlene Byard and her husband William of Florida; Robin Poulin and granddaughters, Katherine and Elizabeth Poulin of Maine; her sister, Geraldine Maurice; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 10 AM to 12 PM on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St., Salem. A memorial service will take place at 12 PM with a reception immediately following.
