Mary Elizabeth Battles, 70

Mary Elizabeth Battles of Peabody passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at Beverly Hospital. She was surrounded by her friends and family.
Mary was born in New York City on February 23, 1948 but lived most of her life in the North Shore area, having lived in Middleton, Danvers, Salem and in Peabody for the past 32 years. She is pre-deceased by her father Joseph Battles and her mother Ruth (Shaw) Battles.
She is survived by her sister Patricia Towler and her spouse Kate Noonan of Gloucester; by her beloved cousin Elaine Augot and her husband Bernard; and a large extended family of cousins, aunts and uncles, and by her family at Bass River most notably Melissa and the rest of her housemates at Andover St.
During her working years Mary worked in light industry in the area, most notably Heritage Industries, Morgan-Goodwill Industries and Devcon Corp. Mary has enjoyed attending the Trask Day center in Peabody since her retirement.
Mary has been a beloved member of the Bass River community for most of her adult life. Mary was a generous and compassionate woman who enjoyed good friends, good food and a great BINGO game.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem, on Tuesday, August 14 from 9 to 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Annunciation Cemetery, Danvers.
