Swampscott- Thomas Francis Nee, Sr., 80, of Salem, MA, passed away Saturday morning, May 26, 2018 in the company of his family at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers. He was the husband of the late Claire Nee of Salem MA.
Born in Boston, MA, Thomas was the son of the late John R. and Mary M. (Evans) Nee. Tom was a U.S. Air Force Veteran serving his country honorably for four years. Tom was a graduate of Boston Technical High School, and received his undergraduate degree from Boston University. He continued his education at Northeastern University where he received his MBA and also earned a Masters in Taxation from Bentley University. Tom worked for over twenty years with Polaroid as their Director of Taxes and Medisense Inc.
Surviving Tom are a son, Thomas F. Nee, Jr and his wife Ellen of Boxford, MA; a daughter, Susan C. Byrne of Swampscott; a son-in-law, Stephen Webb of Salem; eight grandchildren, Cameron, Brandon, and Jackson Byrne, Ryan, Connor, and Tucker Nee, and Shannon and Colin Webb; several nieces and nephews; and other surviving family members Jack Nee of Canton, and Kathy and Roger Michell of Mansfield, MA.
Tom was predeceased by his wife, Claire (LaBrie) Nee; their daughter, Paula Webb and late sister Margie Bernotas of South Boston.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem, Friday from 4 to 8 pm. His funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10am in Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorne Blvd. Salem, burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
