South Hamilton - Muriel Marie (Talbot) Lemelin, 71, of South Hamilton, MA, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Lymphoma on the morning of Wednesday, May 23, 2018. She was the wife of Retired Salem Police Lieutenant Paul W. Lemelin whom she shared 47 years in a loving marriage.
Muriel was born in Salem, MA on May 4, 1947, the daughter of the late Albert and Imelda (Levesque) Talbot. She was a 1966 graduate of St. Joseph's Academy in Salem. After graduation Muriel worked for the Unitrode Corporation as a line supervisor. In 1972 she left the workforce to become a stay at home mother to her four children. In 1985 she moved with her family from Salem to South Hamilton where she resided for her remaining years. After raising her children she returned to work at the Hamilton Wenham School District. After retiring in 2005, Muriel enjoyed traveling with her husband and enjoyed every moment she could with her children and eight grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Paul; four children, Jennifer (Lemelin) Fournier and her husband Geno, Cheryl (Lemelin) Day and her husband David, Kimberly (Lemelin) McLaughlin and her husband Joseph, and Robert Lemelin and his wife Danielle. Eight grandchildren, Hunter and Caitlyn Fournier, Emma, James, and Ava Day, Jared and Olivia McLaughlin, and Madeleine Lemelin; one brother, Raymond Talbot; one nephew, Raymond; and three nieces Diane, Susan, and Laurie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, MA on Monday, May 28, 2018 from 3-6pm. Her funeral will be held in St. Thomas Church, North St Salem/Peabody line Tuesday at 11am. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery Salem.
