Rachel J. Labrecque, 77, of Salem, N.H., passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side, Sunday, August 14, 2016, after a six year battle with lung cancer.
Born in Salem, MA on January 6, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Dorilda (Bossé) Labrecque. Rachel went to St. Joseph's parochial school and graduated from Salem High School in 1957. She worked for Verizon for thirty-seven years in the payroll accounting department in Salem and transferred to Lawrence as a C.O. Tech in various areas in the Merrimack valley.
Rachel loved to travel and enjoyed golfing and bowling and was also a member of the Salem Athletic Club in Salem, N.H.
She is survived by her sisters; Gertrude Labrecque of Salem, Irene Coady and her husband Jack of Auburn, ME, Rita (Labrecque) Darisse of Salem, Cecile Keller and her husband William of Punta Gorda, FL; her brother, Gerard “Jerry" Labrecque of Beverly; her dedicated friend Lois Crawford of Salem, N.H.; twenty-two nieces and nephews; numerous grand-nieces and nephews and cousins; and her aunt Fernand (Belleau) Labrecque. Rachel was predeceased by a brother Norman Labrecque.
Visiting hours are Thursday from 4-8pm in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. (Rt.1A/114) Salem, MA. Relatives and friends are invited. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 10am in Ste.
