Dover, NH-- Wesley L. Calder, 81, of Dover, N.H. passed away Monday in the company of his family. He was the husband of Carol A. Calder.
Born in Gloucester, MA, Wesley was the son of the late Charles S. and Florence (Wheeler) Calder. Wesley was a graduate of Gloucester High School before he joined the U.S. Marines serving honorably during the Korean War. After his return, Wesley earned a degree from the University of Michigan and also took classes at Rutgers University.
Wesley worked in banking for over forty years including his position as Executive Vice President of Grants and Sales with Arlington Trust Co. in Methuen, MA. Together with his wife and family, Wesley lived for many years in Beverly, MA before moving to the Greenland, NH area fifteen years ago. He was a longtime active Mason for over thirty years and a member of the Gerry 5 in Marblehead, MA. Wesley belonged to the Pease Greeters welcoming home soldiers and sailors returning from war. He was also very proud of his Scottish heritage.
Along with his wife, Carol A. (Champlin) Calder of Dover, NH, Wesley is survived by two sons, Alan Calder and his wife Cynthia of Dover, NH, and Brian Calder and his wife Melissa of Danvers, MA; Four grandchildren, Shannon Calder of Littleton, MA, Sean Calder, US Army Fort Louis, WA, Kayleigh Calder of Danvers, MA, and Emily Calder of Danvers, MA; two brothers, Charles Calder of OK, and Willis Calder of TX; and two sisters, Sandra Oliver and her husband Bob of Gloucester, MA, and Janice Muse of NH, and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St, Salem, MA on Tuesday, August 9 from 10am to 12pm followed by a graveside service with military honors in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead.
