Norman F. LeBlanc, 90
April 10, 1933 - April 3, 2024
Norman F. LeBlanc of Salem, Massachusetts passed away peacefully at home, on April 3rd, 2024.
Norman was born on April 10, 1933 in Salem and was the son of Arthur Leon LeBlanc and Marguerite (Cote) LeBlanc. Norman attended St Joseph’s Grammar and High Schools and Salem Teachers College. Teaching became a significant part of his service to the country as he joined the United State Air Force, where he was trained as both a flight navigator and as a valued interpreter for trainees coming from France to learn flight navigation. Many years later Norm resurrected his French instruction skills to assist his children and grandchildren, helping them with their French language arts homework.
After finishing his Air Force career, Norm returned to, and settled in Salem, where he met his wife, Jeanne Carroll, and raised his family of six children.
Norm spent his career working in many capacities for the New England Telephone Company, where he began his career as a pole climber and retired some years later as an installer of commercial telephone systems. Norm could be counted on to regale listeners with telephone installation stories as he drove by North Shore businesses and institutions such as GTE Sylvania, Parker Brothers, the Hawthorne Hotel, Salem City Hall and the Peabody Essex Museum.
Norm retired from the Telephone Company and enjoyed spending his retirement with his children and grandchildren, particularly enjoying hosting them at many years of family Sunday afternoon dinners and barbecues.

He also leaves two younger siblings, brother Lionel “Peter” LeBlanc and Theresa “Betsy” LeBlanc, each of Salem, with whom he visited every Saturday afternoon before walking to the 4:00 Mass at St Anne’s Parish, of Salem.
