Emanuel J. Boltas, 98

Danvers- Emanuel John Boltas, 98, of Danvers, passed away at his home in Danvers on February 26, 2024. He was the husband of the late Frances (Dinsmore) Boltas.

Born in Salem, MA, Emanuel was the son of the late Charles and Yvonne (Joly) Boltas. Emanuel left high school early to join the US Army to serve in World War II. He received a Purple Heart in December '44. During his three years in the Army Emanuel was part of the Northern France, Ardennes, Central Europe, and Rhineland campaigns and he remained in the service until the end of the War.

Returning home, Emanuel worked for many years with the former Eastman Gelatine in Peabody while helping to raise his family. He enjoyed wood working and whittling, loved to go dancing, and in his later years spent a lot of time with his friends at Senior Centers around the North Shore.

Emanuel is survived by his children, Joyce DuBois and her husband David of Nashua, NH, Michael Boltas and his wife Kelly of Peabody, MA, Robert Boltas of Danvers, MA, Karen Cardoso and her husband Duarte of Peabody, MA, and Philip J. Boltas and his wife Dawn of Beverly, MA; also his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and his longtime companion Marie Bourgeois. Along with his wife, Frances (Dinsmore) Boltas, Emanuel was predeceased by his brother James Boltas and his sister, Mary Levasseur.
