Benjamin Kivi
January 15, 1945 - June 24, 2022
Benjamin Kivi passed away peacefully on June 24 at Hunt Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Danvers. Benjamin was born in Norwood to Benjamin Venskus and Anna Kivi. Benjamin was educated at Wrentham State School. Shortly after leaving there he moved to the North Shore area where he spent the rest of his life, having lived in both Danvers and Peabody. Shortly after relocating to the North Shore Benjamin got a job working at Bass River doing light assembly work. He continued to work there throughout his life. In 2013 Benjamin moved into a house managed by Bass River where he served as the senior statesman of the household..
Ben was an astute observer of human behavior. He enjoyed vintage television shows, particularly a good cowboy series. Ben always made time to share a good cup of coffee with his friends.
Ben is predeceased by his father Benjamin Venskus and his mother Anna Kivi and by his long term housemates Brian and Mark. Benjamin is survived by his cousin Linda Venskus of Norwood, his lifelong friend and guardian Ann Perrott, as well as his housemates David, Chris, Robert and Alex. The entire Bass River community will feel the loss of their beloved friend Ben.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Thursday, June 30 from 10:30 a.m. to noon with a service at noon in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem. Burial will be private at a later date. To send a condolence please comment below.
