Beatriz “Mamina” Peguero, 89
June 21, 1932 – April 4, 2022
Salem- Beatriz “Mamina” Peguero, 89 of Salem, passed away April 4, 2022 at Beverly Hospital surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Marino E. “Papito” Peguero.
Born and raised in the Dominican Republic, Beatriz was the daughter of the late Juan M. Alcantara and Ramona A Suazo de Alcantara. Beatriz worked for many years in the leather industry in Peabody and Salem and later retired from GTE Sylvania. She loved to read and was a great story teller. Mamina loved music and was a devout Catholic and loved to laugh. She was spunky and sassy and shared her generous spirit with others. She was a “suegra buena.”
A loving wife, mother and sister, Beatriz is survived by her son, Marino A. Peguero and his wife Luisa Rondon Peguero of Davie, Fla; her daughters Carmen “Rica” Peguero and Perla R. Peguero and her husband Richard Stafford all of Salem; her grandchildren, Leslie Peguero, Ericka Kherkher, Leslee Zahn, and Giancarlo Encarnacion, great-grandchildren, Sebastion, Conner, Olivia, Norah, Nyla, Benjamin, Theo, Beatrice, and Alex, her sisters, Olga and her husband Roberto Perez of Peabody, Yoly and Altagracia Alcantara of Dominican Republic, and her brother, Rafael Alcantara of Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem on Thursday, April 14 from 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Care Dimensions 75 Sylvan St B-102 Danvers, MA 01923 .
