James Alfred Carson, 78

Beverly - James Alfred Carson, 78, of Beverly passed away Sunday afternoon, June 6, 2021 in the company of his loving family at Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers. He is survived by his wife, Elaine (Berube) Carson of Beverly with whom he shared 50 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, MA, James was the son of the late John G. and Yvonne L. (Cimon) Carson. Jim was educated in the Salem Schools and was the longtime co-owner of Thomas Ford Sales in Beverly.
Jim was a lifelong boater learning to sail at a very young age during summers spent in Marblehead and Salem harbors. He shared his love of boats with his family, making many wonderful memories on the water. His other interests included water skiing, snow skiing and flying. Jim was a licensed pilot for private aircraft and flew out of the Beverly Airport for many years. Jim also had a passion for playing the violin. Above all else, James' favorite activity was spending time with his three cherished grandsons who lovingly called him "Papi."
Along with his wife Elaine, James is survived by his daughter Christine (Carson) Mezza and her husband Timothy of Beverly, his three grandsons; Andrew, Matthew, and Jonathan, his brother; John A. Carson and his wife Jean of Peabody, two sisters; Jacqueline A. Chouinard and her husband Roy of Peabody, and Joan M. Burke and her husband Michael of Essex, and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his funeral Mass at St. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave Salem on Monday, June 14, 2021 at 11 a.m. Burial will be private.
