Vincent "Vinnie" A. Smigliano, 83

Salem- Vincent Anthony Smigliano, aka Vinnie, 83 of Salem, passed away in the company of his family early Friday morning, June 18, 2021. Vincent was the husband of the late Phyllis A. (Walsh) Smigliano.
Born in Salem, MA the son of the late Agostino and Lucy (Coletti) Smigliano, Vincent was a lifelong resident of Salem. After graduating from Salem High School, Vincent served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Among his many jobs over the years, Vincent was a supervisor for Sears and a hairdresser at Ronnie's in Beverly. He was a school bus driver for approximately 30 years, starting out with Travel Time before embarking on a long career with the Peabody School Department as a bus driver and dispatcher. Over the years, Vincent enjoyed dabbling in art and photography but was best known as a saxophonist in The Jambassadors, one of the North Shore's first rock n roll bands that he cofounded in the 50s, and The Athenians, a popular local cover band in the 70s and 80s that specialized in Greek music, for whom he also played clarinet and keyboard.
Vincent is survived by his sons, Anthony, Christopher, and Jonathan, all of Salem. He was predeceased by his wife Phyllis A. Walsh Smigliano who shared 51 years of marriage with him.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem, MA on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Burial with military honors will be Thursday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem at 10 a.m. To send a condolence to the family please comment below.
