Mary K. Creeden, 72
December 7, 1948 - January 31, 2021
Salem- Mary Kathleen (Twiss) Creeden passed away peacefully at the age of 72 on January 31, 2021 from complications due to Alzheimer's Disease. She was the loving wife of Michael Creeden of Salem.
Born in Quincy, MA, Mary was the daughter of the late Edward A. and Mary L. (Fair) Twiss. A beautiful, kind, and extraordinarily loving woman, she enriched the lives of all who knew her. A graduate of Danvers High School, Class of 1966, Mary moved to Salem in the early 70’s and along with her beloved husband Donald Michael Creeden (Mike to all), raised four children, worked full-time and still found time to be a booster for SHS sports. Mary always put others before herself, and would lend a helping hand or a shoulder to lean on to everyone who was lucky enough to call her "friend". Mary was happiest taking long drives and walks on the beach with her husband, listening to music, grabbing chop suey sandwiches at the Salem Willows, and of course, spending time with her many friends (old and new) at her favorite restaurant, Bertini’s.
Mary is survived by her loving husband Mike, her four children, Angie Creeden Shaw and her partner Dave Dow of Marblehead, Gabi Creeden Gannon and her husband Patrick Gannon of Santa Rosa, CA, Daniel Creeden and his wife Meeghan Ward Creeden of Newburyport, and Patrick Creeden and his partner Caroline Duda Laramie of Salem & Marblehead. Mary’s three siblings; Dennis Twiss and his wife Madeline of Fairfield, CA, Regina Twiss of Salem, and Elizabeth Twiss Woods of Newmarket, NH. She was also the world’s greatest ‘Nana’ to Kylie, Kendall, Louise, and Irene.
Funeral services will be private and provided by Berube Funeral Home in Salem. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in her name through alzfdn.org. or to Care Dimensions Hospice at caredimensions.org .
