George J. Tremblay, 93

Salem- George J. Tremblay, 93, of Salem passed away at NSMC Salem Hospital Saturday, October 30, 2021 following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Violet (Tremblay) Parent.
A lifelong resident of Salem, George was educated in Salem Schools before joining the U.S. Navy where he served honorably during World War II. After his discharge, George had a long career as a buildings and grounds caretaker for the former St. Joseph Church, School, Convent, and Rectory as well as the former St. Theresa's church in Salem. George was also a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's parish.
George is survived by his daughter, Phyllis Tremblay of Salem and a nephew Arthur Leblanc of Salem. George was predeceased by his wife, Violet (Parent) Tremblay who passed in 2004.
