Salem – Grace Brennan, 96, of Salem, passed away peacefully Friday evening surrounded by her loving family at Kaplan House in Danvers. She was the devoted wife of the late John W. Brennan with whom she shared 64 years of marriage.
Born in Salem, MA, Grace was the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma (Richard) Perron. She was the youngest of four siblings and enjoyed sailing, swimming, and playing the violin throughout her childhood.
Grace graduated valedictorian of her class from St. Joseph’s Academy. An accomplished violinist, she attended the New England Conservatory in Boston before working at GE during World War II. She made many lifelong friends at GE and after raising her children, Grace pursued a successful career at Endicott College.
After the war, she married the love of her life, John W. Brennan, and together they raised six children. Nothing was more important to Grace than her family. Her happiest days were spent creating cherished memories together.
No matter where she was, in Salem-by-the-sea or wintering in Florida, Grace always made her house a home filled with the people she loved.
