James M. Culipher 92

Salem- James Milton Culipher, 92, of Salem, passed away Wednesday morning at Mass General Hospital in the company of his family. He was the husband of the late Blanche (Boyer) Culipher.
Born in Cambridge, MA, James was the son of the late Jake and Helen (Durling) Culipher. James left high school to serve his country in its time of need. He joined the Navy in 1943 and served honorably until 1946. James returned home for a short period and chose to serve his country again enlisting in the Army where he served from 1949 to 1952. After his military service, James began a lifelong career with General Electric manufacturing aircraft engines for over 35 years.
Jim enjoyed working at GE, he was also a crossing guard later in life in Salem. He loved working in his garden and loved animals especially his dogs Jack, Coco I and Coco II.
Surviving him are his children, Wayne Culipher of Salem, Susan Peterson and her husband Alan of Fla, Stuart Culipher of Salem, and Wenda White and her husband Sean of S.C.; his grandchildren, Kylie Cucurull, Katherine Bramblett, Huell White, and Hannah Cook; his great-granddaughter Ariana Parrelli, and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by a daughter, the late Diane Culipher.
Relatives and friends are invited to visitation in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem, Saturday from 9-10am. A memorial service will be held at 10am in the funeral home.
