Salem- Paul William Russell, 81, of Salem, MA, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Salem Hospital. He was the husband of Claire (Theriault) Russell.
Born in Newburyport, MA, Paul was the son of the late Raymond and Dorothy (Hughes) Russell. Paul served his country honorably for four years in the U.S. Navy. After his service, Paul worked for many years at the former Unique Carbide in Lynn.
Paul was a loving family man. He was survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Claire (Theriault) Russell of Salem, as well as a son, William Russell and his wife Heidy of Wilmington, MA, a daughter, Linda Lucas and her husband James of Beverly, and a son-in-law Donald Tondreault of Salem; four grandchildren Raymond and Amie Russell, and Maxwell and Shayna Lucas; sisters, Ruth O'Connor and her husband Frank of Newburyport, and Mary Maguire and her husband Daniel of Seabrook, NH; a brother, David Russell and his wife Patricia of Newburyport, a sister-in-law, Claudette Bernier of Salem, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Nadine Tondreault, and his siblings Raymond Russell and his wife Betty, Edward Russell and his wife Florence, John Russell and his wife Barbara, and Joseph Russell, and a brother-in-law Robert Bernier.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem on Friday, Nov. 2 from 4-8pm. Burial will be private and at a later date.
