John F. Begley, 89

Danvers- John Francis Begley, 89, of Danvers, formerly of Salem, passed away at his home Friday morning, October 13, 2017. He was the husband of the late Lucille Begley.
Born in Lynn, MA, John was the son of the late John and Agnes (Caulfield) Begley. John served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during WWII. He worked for over 40 years with New England Telephone before his retirement in 1990. John was an animal lover and shared his life with his dogs Cindy, Gretchen, and Buffy with whom he spent many days enjoying walks in Forest River Park in Salem. John was also an avid Patriots fan.
John is survived by a son, Kevin Begley and his wife Kelly of Topsfield, MA and a grandson, Jason K. Begley of Topsfield, MA; a sister, Betty Korngiebel of E. Hartford, CT; and nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, John was predeceased by his wife, Lucille (LeClerc) Begley and his brother Eugene Begley.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem, Saturday from 9-10am with a memorial service will be held at 10am. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery Salem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in John's name to Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave. Salem, MA 01970.
