Beatrice M. (Chaput) (Tache) Bergeron, 98, entered into heaven Friday, November 4, after a brief illness surrounded by her loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Robert C. Bergeron.
Born in Salem on June 15, 1918 to Louis J. and Cleophile (Mignault) Chaput, she was the youngest of four children. Bea lived most of her life in Salem and attended Salem schools before moving to Peabody. Bea married Eudore "Dick" Tache and had two sons; Arthur and Paul. After her husband died, Bea raised her boys before marrying Robert Bergeron, also of Salem, and started a second family. Bea was such a loving and caring mother of strong faith in God always helping everyone she met. Known to everyone as Auntie Bea, she touched so many people and was always there to listen. She worked for many years driving a bus for the city of Salem for special needs children. She loved talking to "her kids" and gave them hugs getting on and off the bus. In her later years she was always there to babysit her grandchildren at a moment's notice.
Beatrice is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann Bergeron and her husband Eric Fancy of Anson, ME; her sons Robert Bergeron and his wife Donna of Beverly, Arthur Tache and his wife Marthajane of Salem; her daughter-in-law Pauline Tache of PA; and was the loving "Gram" to Tim and Matthew Tache, Andrew Tache, Stephanie Benevento, Daniel and Emily Bergeron, and Joshua Fancy; Bea was also a great-grandmother to Gunnar and Shelby Tache and Emma and Abigail Benevento. Beatrice was predeceased by her husband, Robert C. Bergeron; a son, Paul Tache; and her grandson Ricky Tache; two brothers, Louis Chaput and Leo Chaput; and her sister, Lillian Chaisson.
