Eileen "Leenie" Sanford, 80

Danvers- Eileen F. "Leenie" (O'Keeffe) Sanford, of Danvers, passed away at the Kaplan Hospice House, Danvers, Monday evening, May 13, 2024. She was the longtime partner of Philip Berube of Danvers.
Born in Salem, MA, Leenie was the daughter of the late William and Tessie (Swiscz) O'Keeffe. She was a graduate of St. John Girl's High School and attended North Shore Community College. She worked for many years at Essex Office, Inc. in Salem.
Leenie was a former Girl Scout Leader and a former volunteer at Hogan Regional Center in Danvers. She and Philip had a second home in Kilkenny, Ireland since 2001. In 1998 she acquired her Irish Citizenship and she and Phil loved to travel to different countries in Europe.
Along with her partner Philip Berube of Danvers, Eileen is survived by her daughters, Laurie Chouinard of Peabody, Lee-Anne Davis of Danvers, and Kerry DeSantis and her husband Peter of N.H.; her grandchildren, Courtney Davis, Michael Chouinard, and Matthew Chouinard; her brother Kevin O'Keeffe and his wife Sheila, her sister, Janice Robinson and her husband Richard; Leenie's bonus children, Suzanne Lucey, Lesley Crosby, and Jill Berube, and their children, Jake and Josh Lucey, and Ben and Ryley Crosby, and nieces and nephews, and friends here and in Ireland. She was predeceased by her nephew Scott O'Keeffe.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem, MA on Thursday, May 23, 2024 from 4 to 7 p.m. and to meet on Friday, May 24 at St. Thomas Church, North St. Salem/Peabody line for her funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Beth Israel Lahey through http://giving.BILH.org to be earmarked to the Peabody Oncology Department.
