Salem- Leo Paul Griffin, 79, of Peabody, passed away at his home Saturday morning, March 20, 2021 in the company of his loving family. He was the husband of Paula Griffin of Peabody.

Born in Salem, MA, Leo was the son of the late Leo E. and Noella (Lavoie) Griffin. Leo was educated in Salem and a graduate of Salem High School before joining and serving with the U.S. Marine Corps. Leo worked as a machinist for most of his career.

Along with his wife Paula, Leo lived in Salem for most of his life while raising their family. In their later years they split their time as snow birds between Florida and Freedom, NH and Salem making many friends where they lived. He was well known for his love of cooking and fishing, and the occasional cigar.

Leo is survived by his wife, Paula (Elchook) Griffin of Peabody, his two daughters, Amy (Griffin) Stewart and her husband Ben of Salem, and Alicia Griffin of Peabody; his grandchildren, Adrien and Norah; his siblings, Patricia Berube of S.C., Ann-Marie L'Heureux and her husband Bob of Florida, and Richard Griffin of Nicaragua; a sister-in-law and Paula's identical twin, Joyce Johnson and her children Erik Johnson and Laura Johnson a great-niece Gianna. Leo is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Along with his parents, Leo was predeceased by his brothers Tommy and Paul Griffin.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem on Friday, March 26, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. Masks and social distancing are required.
