Caroline A. Ouellette, 82
July 3, 1938 - July 15, 2020
Salem- Caroline (Alaburda) Ouellette, 82, of Salem, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at her home in the company of her loving family and dearest friends. She was the wife of the late Roger J. Ouellette.
Born in Lynn, MA, Carol was the daughter of the late Bennie and Blanche (Krawczyk) Alaburda. Carol received her undergraduate degree from Salem State University (Class of 1960) where she also earned a Masters’ Degree in Education in 1966. She enjoyed an early career with the Beverly Public School system where she directed a reading lab, a role that brought her great joy. Carol also spent several years working in the City Clerk’s Office at Salem City Hall, a role she thoroughly enjoyed and where she met many wonderful friends.
Carol was devoted to her Catholic faith and was very active in Ste. Anne’s Parish in Salem, where she was part of the hand bell choir for many years. A lover of books and history, Carol participated in multiple book clubs through the years and always loved a great museum visit. She was also a familiar face at the local YMCA, where she was a regular in yoga, stretching and meditation classes. Carol was a friend of Bill W. and was a constant source of inspiration and strength to her family and her many friends.
Carol is survived by her daughter Annalisa Di Palma and her husband Dino of Swampscott; son Paul Ouellette and his wife Tura of Ipswich; and three grandchildren, Liliana, Edward, and Olivia.
