Danvers- Jeremiah Twomey, 93, of Lynn, passed away Monday afternoon, June 10, 2019 at the Kaplan Hospice House, Danvers surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of 48 years to the late Laurette M. (Roberge) Twomey. They shared most of their lives together in Salem before moving to Lynn in 1990.

Born in Youghal, Co. Cork, Ireland, Jeremiah was the son of the late Jeremiah and Margaret (Glavin) Twomey. Jeremiah lived a remarkable life. He enlisted in the Irish Army at seventeen. Upon being honorably discharged, he lived and worked in England, Scotland, Wales, Kuwait, and Canada before immigrating to the United States in 1953. He worked for many years in construction, most recently with Redmond Concrete. He was a voracious reader and loved discussing politics and current events. He loved dancing, especially to the music of the Big Bands. An avid golfer and pool player, Jeremiah was a longtime member of the "Tenth Hole Club" at the Salem Municipal Golf Course and was a lifetime member of the Lafayette Associates in Salem. He was a devoted father and grandfather, never missing a sporting event, dance recital, drama presentation, or Grandparents’ Day ceremony.

Surviving him are his two daughters; Lisa Gauthier and her husband Kevin of Lynn, and Eileen Twomey of Lynn; his son, Sean Patrick Twomey and his wife LeeAnn (Beverly) of Hampton, NH; two granddaughters, Alison Gauthier and Angelina Gauthier of Lynn; his sister-in-law, Eileen Twomey of Youghal; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his wife Laurette M. (Roberge) Twomey, Jeremiah is predeceased by his siblings; Catherine O'Donoghue, Mary Ellen Halton, Nora Buttimer, Hannah Twomey, Elizabeth Twomey, John Twomey, William Twomey, and Michael Twomey. Jeremiah was also predeceased by his brothers-in-law; Roger Roberge, Lucien Roberge, and Robert Roberge.

Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St Salem on Friday, June 14 from 4-7pm and to his funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave Salem Saturday at 10am. Burial will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery, Salem.
