Peter James Galvin Sr., 84, of Salem, MA passed away on July 23 while being cared for at Golden Living Center in Attleboro, MA.
Born in New York, NY, Peter was the son of John and Rose (Wilson) Galvin. Peter attended Fordham University and was a US Army veteran serving in the Korean War. Peter had a passion and a talent for singing. He had the opportunity to open for his favorite of all time, Frank Sinatra. He appeared in two classic movies - "West Side Story" and Butterflies Are Free". Peter also loved boxing and was fixture in the New England Boxing circuit. In his later years Peter loved to do local singing and karaoke contests with his long time companion Dolores Soteris.
Peter was predeceased by his wife Carmen Sanchez, his bothers: John Galvin, Larry Galvin, and sisters: Dorothy(Galvin) Campbell, Mary (Galvin) Arlock, and Margie (Galvin) Essolen. Peter is survived by his children: Peter (Lisa) Galvin, Rosalie Harker, Thomas Galvin, and Francis Galvin. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren, Aidan, Kendall, Zoe, Ashley, Liam, and Jude.
