Salem- Roger Albert Plourde, 95, of Salem, passed away Monday, December 19, 2016 at the Kaplan Hospice House in Danvers. Roger was the husband of the late Irene (Cote) Plourde.
Born in Salem, MA, Roger was the son of the late Alphonse and Yvonne (L'Italien) Plourde. He was a graduate of Salem Schools before joining the U.S. Army where he served his country honorably for three years during World War Two as a Sergeant and fought in the Pacific Theater. Returning home, Roger worked for twenty-seven years as a milkman for Whitings Milk Co, and later in maintenance for Permathane in Peabody for 10 years until his retirement.
Roger is survived by three daughters, Georgette Gagnon and her husband Leon of Maine, Sue Krol and her husband Benny of Salem, MA, and Joanne Collorone and her husband Richard of Danvers, MA; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem, MA on Monday, December 26 from 5-8pm and to his funeral Mass in Ste. Anne Church, Jefferson Ave. Salem, Tuesday at 10 am. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem.
