Otis F. Putnam of Salem died peacefully on Tuesday, December 13, 2016. He was the loving husband of Helen (Roderick) Putnam for 70 years.
Otis was a radio operator in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Air Transport Command, Staff Sergeant. He was discharged from the service in 1945 and employed by Earley Radio Company for several years. He later entered the field of industrial electronics for the next forty years.
Otis is survived by his wife Helen; one daughter Kathleen Putnam; six sons, Otis Putnam, III and his wife Robin of Georgia, John Putnam and his wife Colleen of California, Timothy Putnam and his wife Michelle of Maine, Patrick Putnam and his wife Calee of Georgetown, MA, Christopher Putnam of Danvers, MA, Gregory Putnam and his wife Kelly of Maryland; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Otis is predeceased by his sister, Shirley Mazika of Florida.
Relatives and friends are invited to a funeral service in the Berube & Sons Funeral Home, 191 Lafayette St. Salem MA Monday December 19 at 11am. A period of visitation will be held prior from 10-11am. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, North St. Salem. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
